This engagement session was SO much fun! Kia and Luke met me in Olympic National Park at Ruby Beach for some beach engagement photos. We were hoping for a nice sunny day, but it’s impossible to get what you want with Washington weather! We pulled up to Ruby Beach and saw the thickest, most dramatic fog. Instead of changing plans, though, we decided to roll with it and really lean into the dramatic feel!
Kia and Luke brought their golden retriever along for the session, too, and I loved it. She was such a ham for all the photos, so excited and full of energy as goldens are. I will never say no to getting your furry friends in your photos! Kia and Luke’s was such a happy pup and her tongue was hanging out in pretty much every photo.
The driftwood lining the shore at Ruby Beach is an amazing sight, so we did a lot with that (of course!). With the woods in the background and the fog covering everything it was dramatic and such a perfect mood. After an outfit change, we wandered more around the natural rock formations on the beach. Kia and Luke were even willing to get into the water when I suggested it! I had them splash around close to shore and this beach engagement turned out so beautiful with the fog in the back.
This sweet couple is getting married in 2022, choosing to wait out the pandemic before having their day. They’ve lived in Washington for a few years now but both are from the Midwest originally! After seven months of dating, Luke asked Kia to come with him when his job moved him to Washington. She took that leap of faith and said yes! I loved giving them this session that was full of true Pacific Northwest vibes. We had such a blast at Ruby Beach on this adventure.
