Seattle’s Pioneer Square is home to The White Studio, a gorgeous 3rd-floor walkup space with tons of natural light and amazing exposed brick walls. After a severe winter storm prevented Kylee and Jessy from having their Seattle engagement photos in Snoqualmie Pass, we opted for this cozy indoor spot instead to keep out of the cold and rain. Boy, am I happy with how this change of plans turned out!
Kylee and Jessy both went to the University of Montana. Jessy graduated and left the area while Kylee was still taking classes. They worked together at the same job before Jessy moved away, and when he came back a while later it sparked a conversation between them of “oh you’re back!” and things only grew from there! They moved to the Seattle area in 2018, and adopted a labradoodle named Finn during quarantine.
The super homey feel of The White Studio really added to the love of these Seattle engagement photos; I had Jessy and Kylee snuggle up on all the furniture and really relax and be themselves. Before the session, Jessy confessed he was nervous because he didn’t believe he was a very photogenic person. Well, it’s my job to absolutely prove you wrong if you feel this way! Everybody is photogenic when their joy and love are so evident! I love being able to help my camera-shy couples really open up and feel like they can be themselves with a camera pointed at them by giving them plenty of direction and suggestions. (Plus, just look at these two; they are the absolute cutest!)
We only had one hour in the studio space, so we ventured outside and got some more amazing engagement photos in Pioneer Square with the beautiful lit trees in the back. There was a break in the rainy Seattle weather, which was super lucky! I found what might be the only clean, aesthetically pleasing alleyway in all of Seattle (kidding! Or am I?) and had them cuddle up there as well.
Kylee and Jessy’s wedding is in November of 2021, and after this fun session I can’t wait to head over to Spokane to capture their day!
