If you’re the type of couple that wants to get married somewhere beautiful out in nature, with all your fave people, but you DON’T want to cut down your guest list or have to hike 5 miles – then you’re my type of couple 😉 And you’ve made it to the right place! This is a guide to all the best, most beautiful outdoor wedding venues in Oregon that require zero hiking, and have space for ALL of your guests.
I adore adventure elopements, but sometimes you might just want to have a big wedding with all your friends & fam, and it’s hard to do that on a random trail out in the middle of the mountains! That’s why this list features outdoor Oregon wedding venues that 1) are absolutely stunning, 2) have plenty of space for everybody you want to invite, and 3) are located somewhere beautiful in nature – e.g. in the woods, at the base of a mountain, etc. Trust me, the scenery at some of these places will have you picking your jaw up off the damn floor 🤯
P.S. If you’re leaning toward getting married in WA instead, you won’t wanna miss the guide I published a few weeks ago with the best Seattle wedding venues!

Ugh I am just OBSESSED with the Griffin House. It’s one of those venues that you’ll just visit and know is right for you immediately 😍With a freaking prime location right on a private cliffside in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, just an hour from Portland, this 120-year old home offers a luxurious space to curate your dream PNW wedding, as well as some of the most Instagram-worthy views in Oregon. The peaceful setting in the trees combined with the jaw-dropping scenery & old stone walls makes for an absolutely magical atmosphere, and you get to enjoy full use of the venue for your entire wedding day. The Griffin House can accommodate up to 175 guests, and will give you access to their exclusive collection of furniture so that everyone has a comfy place to sit throughout the day! Their moroccan rugs, sheepskins, and vintage pieces are guaranteed to make a statement 🙌
Dreaming of a wedding day that feels like a luxurious retreat from the hustle & bustle of your daily life? Then this is the place for you, my friend! Located just 8 miles from the adorable little town of Sisters (that you should definitely venture into during your time in the area), this glorious ranch has SO much to offer when it comes to weddings. Gather with your friends in a beautiful aspen grove, or right on the water with panoramic views of the Cascades; no matter which of the many ceremony & reception sites you choose, you’ll have an absolutely phenomenal celebration at this dreamy ranch! One of the best parts of picking Black Butte Ranch as your wedding venue is that it’s open for weddings year-round – yes, that includes winter! It’s an amazing place for winter weddings, with landscapes that look gorgeousss covered in snow, plenty of cozy indoor spaces to keep warm in, and even discounted venue fees (a win/win/win situtation, as Michael Scott would say). And did I mention this place is literally heaven for outdoor lovers?! You have TONS of activities available to you in this area of the Cascades, including horseback riding, kayaking, biking, hiking, cycling, golfing, swimming, rock climbing, and more!
Who’s ready for an epic camping wedding smack dab in the middle of the woods?! If that sounds like the perfect way to spend your big day, then you are going to looove Camp Colton. It’s a camp-style wedding venue in Northern Oregon, surrounded by rugged wilderness and alll the classic PNW vibes. There’s a crazy cool WWII-era chapel that offers a totally unique and beautiful vibe, as well as a variety of beautiful outdoor ceremony site options within the 85 acres of trees, trees, & more trees. The best part about Camp Colton is that it doubles as a venue AND accommodations for you and your guests, so don’t worry about finding a hotel nearby! You and your boo can stay in the stunning new cottage on-site, and your guests can spend the night in one of the yurts, the tiny house, or tent camp if you wanna rough it a little more & sleep under the stars in this enchanting forest!
We’re all familiar with the good ol’ barn wedding trend that boomed in the early 2000’s, right? Consider this the perfect venue if you want that sort of charming barn wedding, but *elevated*. Cornelius Pass Roadhouse has one of the most unique barns I’ve ever seen – it’s actually octagonal, surrounded by apple and pear trees, spacious meadows, and other luscious lawns & gardens for you to enjoy! With space for up to 400 people depending on the sites you choose to use, this venue screams rustic and has all those romantic, woodsy vibes we all love here in the PNW! You’ll even get full on-site catering, which includes access to McMenamins (a family-owned company who owns the venue) handcrafted ales, wines, and spirits for delicioussss celebratory toasts 🥂
When I think of unique wedding venues in Oregon, THIS is the one I automatically think of! You can literally get married and hold your reception on a boat as it moves along the water! You’ll have a choice of three gorgeous yachts that can each accommodate different guest counts, and you’ll tie the knot right on the Willamette River. It’s such a cool concept! Their wedding packages include 3 hours of private cruising time, a ceremony led by the yacht captain, Pacific Northwest-inspired cruising (yum!), a full-service bar, and SO much more. With such a stylish environment, plenty of cozy places to relax, and a variety of spots to take in the beautiful views, this is for sure one of the venues that provides a totally unforgettable experience for your guests.
Okay I may have spoken too soon!! I know I said the Portland Spirit Fleet was the most unique venue option on the list, but I forgot about this venue that is literally located in a cave, perched atop a cliff in Northeast Portland. The Grotto is a really freaking beautiful and sacred Catholic sanctuary located in Portland, set among over 60 acres of botanical gardens atop Rocky Butte. The Grotto has a few different levels that are accessible to the public, the lowest level featuring a wild-looking cave that was carved out of the basalt cliff way back in 1923, as well as a marble statue in the middle surrounded by candles. You can also explore a nearby trail beneath the massive trees, find sculptures that are tucked into mossy stones, and visit the art gallery! Just know that in order to get married at the Grotto, you do have to follow all requirements of the Catholic Church (e.g. going to pre-marriage programs, etc.).
Nestled at the base of Mt. Hood in the Upper Hood River Valley, Mt. Hood Organic Farms has got to be one of the most magical places to hold a wedding in the entire PNW, and I’m not even exaggerating. On their website, they say that their venue “feels like a destination place without being commercial” – and that TOTALLY describes it. It feels like you’ve traveled to some gorgeous European country, except you’re still in Oregon and you don’t have to deal with a bunch of tourism! Located just off the Mt. Hood Scenic Highway and 20 minutes south of Hood River, this venue offers 200 acres of pure beauty: ponds, trails, orchards, colorful flowers, manicured lawns, historic architecture, and views galore. You’ll even get to enjoy their delicious farm-to-table dinners in the romantic Apple House 😍
Honestly, this blog should just be titled “100 Insane Places to Get Married at the Columbia River Gorge” – it is literally impossible to go wrong if you choose a venue in the Gorge. This picturesque winery & vineyard offers 12/10 views of Mt. Hood and the Gorge region, delicious wine (duh!), and a variety of indoor and outdoor facilities to choose from! Gorge Crest is available for outdoor weddings from May to October, and no matter what month you get married, the grounds will be manicured to perfection (and might even be covered in vibrant, blooming flowers in the summer)! You can celebrate outdoors from your ceremony all the way into the evening if the weather permits, since the venue has a spacious concrete dance floor outside with plenty of mood lighting, a covered pergola with gorg (and Gorge – see what I did there?) views, and even a lighted hammock area to lounge around in! And if you’d rather hold your party indoors, you can use the rustic barn with a stone fireplace, an outdoor bar, and large south-facing windows so that you get to enjoy those views from inside, too.
Now thisss venue is the epitome of a whimsical woodsy escape – and it’s literally located in the big city. Yup, their website calls it a “living museum of trees in Portland” for its central location just two miles from downtown Portland, while boasting 190 acres of gorgeous landscapes! Located atop a little section of the Tualatin Mountains, the Hoyt Arboretum was founded all the way back in 1928 and to this day, still provides a home to over 2,000 species of trees from six different continents. It’s a dream come true for couples who want to get married in the peaceful atmosphere of the woods, without having to go too far from the city! Choose from the rolling green Wedding Meadow, the quiet Stone Circle, the dreamy Redwood Deck, or the spacious Stevens Pavilion for your big day; personally, the Redwood Deck sounds just like my vibe! You can rent both the deck & the meadow for a beautiful contrast of wide-open, lush green meadows & the deep green, dense forest. Note that rental fees vary by the location(s) you want to use, and how long you’d like to have access for!
This is another PERF venue if you want to bask in the beauty of the PNW without being too far from Portland! Horning’s Hideout is the most enchanting property about 35 minutes west of Portland with three different on-site venues to choose from: Creekside, a wooded area that sits along a creek; Lakeside, a semi-wooded lakeside area, and the Main Stage, located on the north side of the Lake with a massive wooden stage. Each space can accommodate anywhere from 250-700 people, so trust me when I say this venue is ready for the biggest of big weddings! And you’ll get to stay at this venue even after the party wraps up for the day, since they offer spots for you and your guests to camp & make your home for the night.
The Ecotrust Building is an iconic building located in Portland’s Pearl District with a multitude of gorgeous spaces that can be used for weddings. Whether you want to have an industrial-chic ceremony against the exposed beams in the conference center or you want to host a glam reception on the rooftop terrace overlooking Portland (or both!), this building seriously has something for every couple who wants to celebrate in the city. I’m partial to the rooftop terrace, which has space for up to 150 people for a ceremony & 225 people for a cocktail-style reception, as well as a super cozy, elegant ambiance and amazing views! Cozy up next to the outdoor fireplace, head into the indoor atrium, set up a fancy rooftop dinner party. . . the choice is yours. This is a great place to host your evening reception/afterparty if you’re having your ceremony & reception at separate locations!
If you’re looking for another venue in the Black Butte/Sisters area, FivePine Lodge is a top-tier option! Located in Central Oregon, just 25 minutes from Bend, this is the ultimate lodge for a wedding in the woods, where you can stay with all your friends and fam and have a BOMB weekend. It’s a true romantic getaway that makes you feel like you’re in a whole other world, mixing those cozy bed & breakfast vibes with the elegance of a luxury resort. You can get married at FivePine in any season thanks to the collection of unique indoor and outdoor spaces, whether that’s next to the massive Ponderosa pines in the fall, among the wildflower meadows in the summer, or inside the lodge when the snow is falling! And this venue has more to offer than the fairytale-esque atmosphere & venue variety – there’s also a luxurious spa on-site so you can get some well-deserved R&R before the big day, plus the most beautifully-decorated cabins everywhereee.
Here’s another lodge option for ya if FivePine doesn’t work out, but you still want that same log-cabin, charming, woodsy vibe! Loloma Lodge is located at the base of the western Cascades along the McKenzie River, and boasts four riverfront cabins that will make you NEVER want to leave. A huge pro of this lodge is that you get your ceremony venue, reception venue, and lodging all in one place, plus a campground if you’d rather pitch a tent for the night! As their website says perfectly, “Loloma is the wedding venue for you if you want that ‘campground, middle of nowhere vibe’”.
Okay now ONE more lodge before this list ends!! Timberline is a pretty iconic lodge in Oregon – it was actually the lodge used in film shots in The Shining, when they looked down on it from above! It literally sits right on the south side of Mount Hood, about 60 miles east of Portland and provides one of the most amazing high-alpine experiences you can get in the PNW. Timberline has quite a few different wedding venues to offer, including a large indoor hall with windows overlooking the Cascades & Mount Hood, the Raven’s nest with soaring cathedral ceilings, outdoor patios, an amphitheater, and the unique Silcox Hut, constructed out of timber and stone. ALL of these venues are so freaking beautiful, and can accommodate different group sizes – so no matter how many guests you want to invite, you’ll definitely find a space that works for you! Who wouldn’t want to tie the knot at 6,000 feet above sea level, in front of breathtaking mountain views, at a gorgeous historic hotel?!
Lastly, let’s head back into the city for another awesome Portland wedding venue, The Evergreen. With room for over 500 people, The Evergreen is a super flexible event space that can be used in soooo many ways. It’s super easy to customize it to fit your unique day, whether you’re having a small 20-person wedding or a big celebration with 200 of your fave people! You’ve got tons of room to use, from the entry area to the main floor to the mezzanine, and even a beautiful private suite to get ready in. I loveee the exposed brick combined with the massive windows & abundance of natural light – they did such a good job renovating the original architecture of the building and turning it into a versatile space!
Wellll as they say in Looney Tunes – that’s all, folks! I seriously hope that one of these spaces turns out to be your goldilocks, just-right, dream-come-true venue where you can host your freaking rad wedding day. As an Oregon wedding photographer, I’m obsessed with the insane amount of amazing venues that we have available to us here in the PNW, so you def chose the right region for your big day 😉 I’d LOVE to capture all the joyful moments of your Oregon wedding, and help you plan a day that truly reflects your love in its most authentic form. If you’re ready for a stress-free, fun wedding celebration, I think we’ll be a good fit – fill out my contact form if you’re ready to connect & make this shit happen!
