What could be better than sipping on some of the best wine in Washington as you celebrate with your fam and friends, surrounded by vibrant PNW greenery, romantic bistro lights, and a charming, rustic wine cellar vibe? Absolutely nothing, that’s what 😉 If that sounds like your kinda day, then might I suggest having your wedding at JM Cellars?! It’s one of the top winery wedding venues in Washington, serving up both an array of award-winning wines and the wedding experience of a lifetime for each and every couple who celebrates there. Let’s take a little tour of this stunning winery and everything it has to offer for Woodinville weddings, yes?
About JM Cellars
After photographing multiple weddings at JM Cellars (and I even have a few more coming up over the next few months!), it’s easily made its way to the top of my list of favorite venues. JM Cellars is a family-owned winery in Woodinville, Washington, about a 30 minute drive northeast of Seattle, maybe 25 on a good day with little to no traffic. Wine production started back in 1998, and since then it’s become a renowned wedding venue in the greater Seattle area, even voted the “Best Winery Venue” for 2023 by Seattle Bride magazine—so you know it’s a good one! The wine here is so incredible that it’s received many an accolade from both local and international wine critics🤯I’m not a wine expert by any means, but that sounds pretty damn good to me and I think ANYBODY would be thrilled to be handed a glass of their wine on their wedding day🥂
Now besides the top-rated wines, JM Cellars is also an absolutely fabulous wedding venue (obviously, that’s why we’re here haha). Their property has an adorable nickname, “Bramble Bump,” which was originally part of a 500+ acre dairy farm that was lost to its owners in the great depression. After the next owner built up the property, planting all kinds of native Northwest foliage and designing a home for themselves, the current owners bought the land in 2000 and have since turned it into a beautiful winery + event space! Bramble Bump encompasses seven gorgeous acres of Woodinville that are brimming with a variety of trees including Japanese Maples, rare conifers, and even one of the largest cherry trees in the country. It’s seriously such a stunning property and feels like a little oasis in the middle of Washington—you’d never know you’re less than an hour’s drive from Seattle! The whole place feels so secluded and private.

I’m a sucker for a good winery wedding—there’s just something about celebrating at a place where you get not only the rustic charm of a winery, but you also get idyllic gardens and lush foliage and the close proximity to the city, should you desire somewhere a little more urban for part of your celebration. JM Cellars truly has it all; it’s the dream blend of rustic and modern, laid-back and sophisticated, indoor and outdoor, nature and urban. . . honestly, it’s a venue that can make ANY type of wedding vision come to life seamlessly. Want an elegant day with 100 of your fave people, full of luxurious decor and refined dining experiences? JM Cellars can do it! How about a semi-formal day with an intimate 10-person ceremony and romantic, late-night dinner party vibes? They can make it happen!
One of the things that makes JM Cellars such a fabulous Washington wedding venue is that it has indoor and outdoor settings, both of which are equally amazing and thoughtfully-designed. Being in Washington, we almost alwaysss have to consider the high likelihood of rainy weather and overcast skies—even in the middle of the warmest summer months. So it’s SUPER valuable to find a venue that has both dreamy outdoor spaces and gorgeous indoor ones; this way, if the worst case scenario happens and there’s a downpour on your wedding day, it’s easy to transition everyone inside without feeling disappointed at all! You can always head back outside for couples portraits in the rain, if that does happen and you’re sad about losing out on the breathtaking outdoor areas 🙂 Being that JM Cellars is nestled among such lush, woodland acres, you’ll have access to the most romantic, well-manicured outdoor venues, surrounded by an abundance of foliage native to the PNW—aka the most jaw-dropping greenery ever. It’s seriously a photographer’s DREAM; every freaking corner of this venue has something to offer!
Aside from the idyllic atmosphere of this enchanting winery, JM Cellars has such a stellar team of professionals on-site who will help you design the wedding celebration of your dreams. You’ll have the help of a JM venue manager, who will be onsite for your rehearsal and the day of your event, as well as valet service and assistance in choosing wines for your day + pairing them with your menu.

Planning Your JM Cellars Wedding
Ceremony + reception venue options
The Courtyard is the main part of JM Cellars, a spacious courtyard filled with sparkling market lights and plenty of gorgeous greenery. It’s perfect for any outdoor celebration, whether you’ll have 15 or 75 guests at your reception; you can set it up for cocktail hour with glass-topped wine barrel tables, or fill up the space with dinner tables for an enchanting reception beneath the lights. Near the Courtyard is a small lawn for ceremonies, where you’ll tie the knot beneath an array of lush green trees, a magical spot that feels like it’s straight out of a little woodland fairytale!
There are also a few additional indoor rooms that are great for getting ready + portraits, including the Loft Billiards Room, the Loft Bridal Suite, the Loft Library, and the Fireplace Room.

Important things to know about getting married at JM Cellars
JM Cellars has been named one of the top winery wedding venues not only for its idyllic woodland setting, but also for the incredible ways it serves couples + their guests through every part of their day. To make sure you have the most smooth, seamless day possible at this venue, here are a few important things to know about getting married at JM Cellars:
—Timing restrictions: Because JM Cellars is open to the public for their wine tastings until around 4pm on weekends, we’ll need to work around their timing for photos, etc! Don’t worry, though, it’s super easy to do and I’ve already done it a few times—it’s just something to be aware of.
—Planner requirements: JM Cellars requires couples to have a licensed wedding planner for either partial or full planning services, so make sure you’ve got a killer planner by your side. I’m happy to give you some reccs if you need them!
—Valet service: There’s limited parking available at the venue, so they contract with a valet service to handle parking for you!
—Catering: JM Cellars doesn’t have an in-house catering team, but they do have a list of preferred caterers who have experience working at the venue.
—Dogs: Dogs are allowed at JM Cellars weddings as long as you have a pupsitter to watch them during the day!
Best time of year to have your wedding at JM Cellars
Because JM Cellars offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings, you can really get married there at any time of year! Spring and summer are heavenly at JM Cellars due to the vibrant, blooming greenery and the warm, sunny days, but winters can be just as beautiful and magical in their own unique way. If you really want to celebrate outdoors, I’d go with a wedding in late spring, summer, or early fall, as that’s when you’ll have the best temperatures + the lowest chance of rain. One thing to keep in mind is that JM Cellars wedding packages vary by season, so if you’re looking to stay within a lower budget, you may want to choose a date between November-April, when their rates are lowest. Weekends will always be more expensive than weekdays, too, with Saturdays being the most expensive day to get married at JM Cellars!
Where to stay for your JM Cellars wedding
Unfortunately JM Cellars doesn’t have any on-site lodging available for couples and their guests, but there is a super nice resort just a few minutes away (literally only 3)—Willows Lodge. It’s an absolutely gorgeous place to stay, inspired by the natural beauty of the area as well as modern comfort and amenities (including on-site spa treatments and a highly-acclaimed restaurant). With such a great location in Woodinville, you have easy access to everything in the area and SO many things to do, including wine tasting at the many nearby wineries, local Farmers Markets, golf courses, live entertainment, and more—so it’s an awesome place to stay with your guests for a few days and enjoy some quality time together.

How much does it cost to get married at JM Cellars?
As of the time of writing this (April 2024), JM Cellars wedding packages & prices are as follows:
—July-September: Starting from $8,450
—May, June, October: Starting from $7,950
—November-April: Starting from $7,650
Note that these packages are based on weddings of 100 guests. You’ll want to reach out to the venue to make sure you have up-to-date pricing based on your unique wedding!
Here’s what’s included in JM Cellars wedding packages:
- Exclusive rental of the venue & arboretum
- All-day access to JM Loft for your wedding party (starting at 10am)
- Dinner furniture including farm tables, round tables, & black Chiavari chairs
- Ceremony & reception furniture including folding chairs, wine barrels, stools, & adirondack chairs
- In-house sound
- Fireplaces and fire pits (both indoor & outdoor)
- Valet service
- 1-hour wedding rehearsal the day prior to your wedding
- Wine tasting & menu pairing assistance
- JM venue manager onsite for your rehearsal & wedding day
Keep in mind that wine and beer are separate additions to these packages, and taxes aren’t included, either. They recommend that you estimate a minimum of $20 per adult guest for JM wines!
